Hey, everybody. Art Wainwright and I birded Stearns Lake, Boulder County, late this warm, windy Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13. Highlights were 2 northern pintails and a wood duck. Despite the howling wind, the loudly declaiming western meadowlarks were not to be denied.
Over at the innominate pond across the way in Broomfield County was a "blue" goose x Canada goose hybrid. Photos here:

Earlier in the day at Greenlee Preserve, Boulder County, I heard and sort of saw a fog-shrouded greater white-fronted goose.
And yesterday, Friday, Feb. 12, at Settlers Park, Boulder County, Hannah Floyd and I watched pygmy nuthatches building a nest, a remarkable performance. Photos here:
