[cobirds] Cherry Creek trail, Pinery, Douglas

We enjoyed a melodious walk along the North Pinery Cherry Creek trail this morning. Singers galore! Lots of Bullock's & Orchard orioles, Lazuli Buntings, Yellow Warblers & Yellow-breasted Chats, House Wrens, American & Lesser goldfinches. About a mile north we heard, but could not see, a Dickcissel with its sort of guttural song; people seem to have found Dickcissels in some numbers this summer in various places. We did not find the Bobolink that we saw there 2-3 weeks ago. 34 species in our 2 hour trek.

We also encountered heavy bike traffic, with the bikers uniformly courteous.
