[cobirds] summer tanager - Boulder County

All:
1st spring male Summer Tanager seen along the Cresent Springs Trail today.

This is quite the hike in:  From Flagstaff Mt Road got to Pika Road (near Myers Gulch) and take it to the Ethel Harrold Picnic area - the hike in is about 2 miles on rolling rugged terrain.  From Ethel Harrold, take the Eldorado Canyon Trial down to the river, cross, and up onto the ridge into open ponderosa where it becomes the Cresent Springs Trail.  The bird was foraging in ponderosa along with several Western Tanagers.  Red was appearing on all parts of the body, especially the chest, head, and stomach.

No birder in their right mind is going to do this hike are they?   I thought I'd report it anyways.
