Today the area was alive with Yellow Warblers. We banded 25 plus caught 7 that we had banded previously this season. Most of the new ones were females, most of those who'd been around were males, and the males were ready to breed. The joys of spring!
-- Here's the breakdown of the 36 new birds for the day:
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Black-capped Chickadee 2
House Wren 1
Gray Catbird 4
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 25
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Only 4 more days - open daily through Sunday, from about 7:30 - 11, weather permitting.
