[cobirds] Migration picks up a last!

Hi cobirders. After 10 days of not gettng out birding or adding anything here Friday May 22 brought 8 Common Grackles 2 on the caged Sunflower feeder
one on each side stretching their necks to reach the lower openings and with luck a seed with their beaks, the other 6 in the backyard grass moved in line
thru the grass for insects.

Saturday the 23rd at 8am a Black-headed Grosbeak male stopped on the feeder too big to get in flew into the nearby Chokecherry where I was able to
see its rusty orange rump patch. First ever in my yard! It came back Sunday afternoon for a similar visit.

Saturday also my son took me birding at Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife. We saw over 35 species including 11 new ones for my year list including
Western Kingbird, Northern Mockingbird,Lark Bunting (group of 20), Bullock's Oriole ( imm. male, later a bright pair), Lark Sparrow, Brown Thrasher,
Yellow-headed Blackbird, Song Sparrow ( seen well to count), Blue Grosbeak ( pair),and an Eastern Kingbird, also a Western Wood Pewee.

I hope to catch up on lots more migrants before summer.
