The 2013 floods on Bear Creek in Boulder Open Space blew out the culverts where the Mesa Trail crosses, creating a nice waterfall and pool. An opportunistic Dipper family made a nest behind the new waterfall. Both parents are feeding chicks at this point. The Dippers seem to tolerate quite a lot of human foot traffic just a few feet downstream.
