[cobirds] Thanksgiving weekend highlights and Larimer County Gulls

Greetings All

Photos of some of the highlights from Thanksgiving Weekend are at

 https://www.flickr.com/photos/36088296@N08/

This includes birds from ducks to finches, but there are a lot of gull photos including a GW Gull and a GW x Herring Gull. The gull photos are mostly from the Larimer County Landfill, which is actually an eBird hotspot (it is off Taft between Ft Collins and Loveland). They are amazingly welcoming to birders. Check in at office (left turn beyond weigh-in entrance stations). PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be INCREDIBLY respectful, groveling even. This is one of very few landfills in the nation that allow birders on site. LET US NOT BLOW THIS OPPORTUNITY. It has been closed to birders in the past. Best time for gull numbers appears to be 11 am - 2 pm per the personnel there. Open on weekdays only.

Also note that on 1 December there was a RED NECKED GREBE at Lake Loveland.

Good Birding
