[cobirds] Red-necked Grebe North Gateway Park (Prowers County) Colorado

The Red-necked Grebe continues and is presently at North Gateway Park (formerly Valco Gravel Pit) in Lamar, Colorado.  This grebe was first seen on 2014Nov15 and is often in the company of a Western Grebe and an injured Snow Goose.  The bird feeds at North Gateway but often flies to one of the nearby "restricted access" ponds.  If you are coming from the north on Highway 287, look for the Holiday Inn Express to your left or east of the highway, turn left there on Crystal Street.  Go past the two hotel entrances to the first left turn (unmarked).  Follow the dirt road north past a used vehicle lot and past the cement plant to the Gateway fishing pond.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
