[cobirds] Ruby-throated Hummingbird in Bent County

Birders,

I have a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird coming to my feeder in Las
Animas, Bent County. My default hummingbird in this part of the state is
Black-chinned Hummingbird, and this morning, I finally got to see the
brilliant red gorget on a bird that has not been very willing to pose in
the sun for me.

Birders are welcome to look for this bird in my yard, provided they call
or email me first.

Oh, by the way, the subadult white-morph Reddish Egret first seen at
Adobe Creek Reservoir on July 5th has settled in on Verhoeff Lake. It
may be visible from U.S. 50 at Bent County Road 26.5, and was still
there on Sunday, September 8th. I will help visitors access this bird
provided I am in the area.

Good luck,

Duane Nelson
