Birders,
The male Ruby-throated Hummingbird in my yard in Las Animas was seen
with certainty only in the morning on 9/10. After a prolonged visit to
Verhoeff Reservoir and Lake Hasty, the subadult white morph Reddish
Egret was absent from both locations on 9/10.
I visited Lamar Community College with David Gillilan and Janeal
Thompson, and things were hopping (including, unfortunately, chiggers).
We saw many good birds, including Magnolia Warbler, Black-and-White
Warbler, Red-Eyed Vireo, Baltimore Oriole (male and female), Northern
Cardinal, Great-crested Flycatcher and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
