Hi Cobirders. My son Bob and I checked out Crown Hill 11:20 to Noon
Saturday. Reservoir ice covered except a lot of open water at east
end. Lots of Canada Geese and
Ring-billed Gulls.
One male Red-breasted Merganser .
While leaving the park lot a small flock of Cedar Waxwings were in
the trees at the edge. Saw two very well.
12:15 to 12:30 PM stopped at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the small open
pond in center near the large brown building were several waterfowl :
Northern Shoveler 15 most of them doing their circle thing.
American Coot 1
Redhead 1
Lesser Scaup 1
Bufflehead 2 male 1 female
Hooded Merganser 1 male.
Got home for lunch before the snow started lightly and by 2PM heavy .
3:30 PM ground covered with a inch or more. Stopped now.
Good birding
