[cobirds] Red-naped Sapsucker

SeEtta et al,
Last week I managed to get a few photos of the Sapsucker in Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Not calendar quality, but enough to see plumages characteristics.
I sent the photos to Tony Leukering for his review and comments. Below are his words.

"I have no prob with this being a young Red-naped. Its nape is still juv plumage, so I wouldn't worry too much about there being no red there. The extensive red throat
bleeding into the black frame should let us ID it as a male. While it is possible that YBSA could already look like this, such is much rarer than a red-less Red-naped."

I'm sticking with my original ID as a late Red-naped Sapsucker.
