[cobirds] Red Crossbills, Fort Collins, Larimer County

Hey all,

On a short walk this morning around my neighborhood just east of CSU campus, I was surprised by many large(ish) flocks (anywhere from 5 to 50 birds) of Red Crossbills foraging loudly at the tops of most Spruce trees that I passed.  At Harris Bilingual School the largest flock (about 40-50) was chirping and singing loudly atop the Spruce in the north-east corner of the playground near the building.  It was exciting to see so many in town!  Maybe this will be a good year for them!

Good Birding!
