A small group of "hardy souls" took a trip up Raptor Alley on Saturday--finishing up just as the snow began to fly. Quantity low but quality was usual.
Golden Eagle
Prairie Falcon
Northern Harrier
American Kestrel
Red-tailed Hawk
Rough-legged Hawk
Ferruginous Hawk
Special treat Lapland Longspurs--about 16-20+ along WCR 100 between WCR 27 and 23--a usual hangout. We had mixed flock above us which probably had dozen or so in it. Also, a new prairie dog location at same location on southside of WCR 100 in middle of open ag field--due slightly southeast of lone tree in field on north. One I was not aware of until the weekend. Didn't see the earlier reported Nunn Common Redpoll.
Timnath Reservoir, Woods Lake and Windsor Lake had nice waterfowl assortment--Woods Lake having six Least Sandpipers and lone Greater Yellowlegs.
Thanks Gary Lefko, Nunn
