[cobirds] Greater white fronted geese

I also have a pair of greater white fronted geese on my pond today. This was the first time that I had a pair show up as opposed to a single goose.
I've been enjoying a couple of pairs of a hooded mergansers and an occasional goldeneye here on the pond. The mergansers have been here for about a week so I think they must be finding the pond to be a pretty good food source. I've been concerned that the roosting cormorants had fished out the ponds here completely. We've had about 25 cormorants roosting here in the summer and I've had my doubts that there was much food left.
I haven't counted the geese here in the last couple of weeks, but we've had a huge influx of them. There's every size and shape amongst them so I think I've got a representation of most of the different kinds.
There were also some waxwings eating on various berry trees and bushes that we have here.

I guess that's about it, thanks for listening, Deb Carstensen, Littleton
