Arapahoe County:
--2 f Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Hill in the NE bay of South Platte Reservoir on November 17.

Boulder County:
--5 Bohemian Waxwings with Cedar Waxwings were reported by Mark Miller near 63rd and Gunbarrel Ave on November 13.
--2 Common Redpolls were reported by Hundertmark at Fawn Brook Inn in Allenspark on November 17.
--At Baseline Reservoir in Boulder on November 17, the BBC field trip led by John Vanderpoel had a nice gull study of 1-st cyc Thayer's and Herring Gulls side by side and 5 Tundra Swans (2ad, 3 juv)
--Gray-crowned and Black Rosy-Finches were reported by Wilberding in Ward on the main street on November 18.

Chaffee County:
--25 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Kellner at Ice Pond in Buena Vista on November 18.

El Paso County:
--A  Tundra Swan was found by Bill Maynard at the S end of Rice's Pond in Fountain Creek RP on November 13.  
--A Dunlin was found by Shipe and Mitchell at a pond in Falcon off Stapleton Dr and Lambert Rd on November 17.  Goff relocated the Dunlin on November 18.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) at a pond near Headquarters on November 18, Bill Maynard reported 2 Rusty Blackbirds.
--On the El Paso side by a dripping stock tank, Maynard reported a Lapland Longspur on November 18.

Fremont County:
--A juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Moss at Centennial Park in Canon City on November 14.

Garfield County:
--2 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by McConnell at Rifle Gap SP on November 13.

Huerfanco County:
--On November 13 an ad basic BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was reported by Rich Miller at Lake Martin in Lathrop SP.  On November 14 Miller reported a juv BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE at Lake Martin.
--On November 15 at Martin Lake in Lathrop SP, Neldner reported a juv Pacific Loon.  Neldner reported that the Pacific Loon was
in the same place on November 16 and it was on November 15.

Jefferson County:
--Burke reported on November 18 that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues at Red Rocks Trading Post.

Larimer County:
--Common Redpolls were reported by Judie Wright on November 8 at Lily Lake in Rocky Mt NP and Rashid refound 21 of them at 4:30 pm on the S side of the trail that goes around the lake.  On November 9, Pautsch relocated the Common Redpolls on the S end of the lake.  Stay near the small bridge and watch for movement near the bridge.  On November 10, Starrett reported that the Common Redpolls had moved to the N side of the lake towards the west end near water's edge.  On November 12, Henwood reported that the Common Redpolls were on the S side of the lake near the footbridge.  On November 13, Pieplow reported 7-8 Common Redpolls at Lily Lake about a couple hundred yards S of the parking lot under construction near lakeshore.  On November 14, Kilpatrick reported 28-30 Common Redpolls on the S side of the lake.
--A juv GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW has been visiting the yard of Sean Walters in South Loveland since November 10.  If you
would like to try for the bird please contact him at waltersintherockies AT gmail.com.  The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW returned on November 13 and was observed by several birders.  Walters reported that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW returned to the yard
on November 18.
--A probable juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Mammoser at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on November 14.  A YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Cropper at Grandview Cemetery near the golf course in Scotch Pines 20 yards east of the port-a-potty on November 17.  Leatherman reported m YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at Grandview Cemetery on November 18.
--An ad m Long-tailed Duck was found by Wild on November 17 at Douglas Lake near Wellington and refound by Komar on November 18.
--At Smith Lake near Wellington on November 18, Komar reported 1 subadult m Barrow's Goldeneye and 1 probable Snow Bunting heard calling overhead.

Las Animas County:
--A female type Surf Scoter was reported by Rich Miller at Trinidad Lake SP on November 14.

Mesa County:
--25 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Bowden on the 29 Rd River Front trail in Grand Junction on November 13.

Pueblo County:
--On November 15 at Pueblo Reservoir Percival reported 2 Pacific Loons and 1 Red-throated Loon and 1 ad Lesser Black-backed Gull by the S shore marina tires.  On November 17 in the middle of Pueblo Reservoir, Percival reported Red-necked Grebe, Pacific Loon, and Red-throated Loon.  On November 18, Percival reported that the Red-necked Grebe was seen from West Fisherman's Point and the Pacific Loon was seen from Sailboard Lauching area looking towards the S Marina.
--At Pueblo City Park on November 17, Percival reported m YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER near Ravine in NE part of park.

Rio Blanco County:
--Korte reported that the Tundra Swan continues on a pond S of the intersection of Hwy 13 and Hwy 64 W of Meeker on November 15.

Summit County:
--At Dillon Reservoir Marina on November 18, Kellner reported 15 Barrow's Goldeneyes and 1 ad m Surf Scoter.

Weld County:
--Lapland Longspurs were reported by Lefko along CR 100 between CR 23 and 27 on November 13.
--At CR 100 about 1.2 miles W of CR 57 (i.e. W of Norma's Grove where Coal Creek crosses CR 100) Leatherman reported 4 Common Redpolls and 100+ Lapland Longspurs on November 15.  On November 18, Kaempfer reported 14 Common Redpoll at CR 100 at Coal Creek.
--On November 16, Hess reported 20 Common Redpolls on CR 57 N of Hwy 14 and Lapland Longspurs along CR 57  & CR 100.  On November 17, Dunning found a group of Common Redpolls about 2.5 miles N of Hwy 14 on CR 57 and heard Lapland Longspurs fly by.
--On November 18, Kaempfer reported 50 Lapland Longspurs at CR 97 and CR 64.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, November 24 will be to Rigli Ranch led by Joe Rigli (970-867-5210).  Meet the leader at the ranch by 0830.  From Hudson, go east on CO 52 until it turns north.  Don't turn north, but continue east on Morgan CR F to CR 14, then turn north for approximately one mile to first house on left by boxcars.  Bring lunch and extra water.  Joe reports that wild turkeys have been seen at the ranch.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, November 25th will be the RMBO Annual Barrow's Goldeneye Count in the Silverhtorn and Grand Lake Areas led by Paul Slingsby (303-422-3728).  Meet the leader at the Stegosaurus lot to carpool at 0800.  From I-70 west , exit 259 (Morrison), head south a very short distance on CO 26 and turn left (east) into parking lot (look for the Stegosaurus sign).  This is the same lot as used by Hawkwatch.  Will meet at south end of lot, spaces permitting, near the driveway.  Spotting scopes, binoculars and 2 way radios will be very useful.  Please carefully study male, female and first year Common and Barrow's Goldeneyes before the trip.  Registration with the leader is required.  dress for very cold and windy weather even if the forecast is for a comfortable day.  This includes insulated, windproof leg coverings and insulated boots.  Bring a lunch and hot thermos but we may find a warm place to buy a lunch if our schedule allows.  Will try to be back at Stegosaurus lot by dark.  

The next monthly meeting of Denver Field Ornithologists will be on Monday, November 26 at 7:30 pm in the Ricketson Auditorium of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  Cindi Kelly will kick off the two part program Learning about Colorado Birds.  She will discuss the Bald Eagle Watch.
