[cobirds] More Mississippi Kites in Greeley

I had a picnic lunch at Glenmere Park at about 4 pm. There was no sign of the famous kites. Then suddenly about 4:30 pm the group of 5 were all flying high above the lake, apparently having arrived from the East. Then there were 6. Then there were 7. Finally there were 8, and coming in for a landing at the East end of the lake, next to the Pavilion building. I approached the roost trees to confirm the number I had counted, and was able to locate and photograph 7 perched birds. Five were in a large deciduous tree, and 2 in a dying coniferous tree right along the lakes edge. None of these were recently fledged. Some were a year old, and some two or more years old. I wonder if the numbers will continue to increase.
