Fellow Larophiles (i.e. gull lovers),
Carter Lake (fee area) continues to host a large communal gull roost. Last night, there were >500 gulls (mostly Ring-billed and Herring). Highlights were 2 California, 7 Iceland (includes 2 immature "kumlieni"), 2 immature Glaucous, and 14 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
The gulls last night were in the northeast part of lake, closer to shore than usual, but still very distant, requiring telescope. Most of the gulls arrived after 4 pm.
