[cobirds] Re: Red breasted nuthatches, Arapahoe county

The nuthatch appears to be caching dewinged pine seeds in the pine bark.

I've had heavy presence of red breasted nuthatches here this fall. At one point, I had at least 10 in my spruce tree that flew in and out of my birdfeeder, acting as hyper as bushtits. A couple of days ago, I had at least six eating insects from the bark of my of the pine trees in our complex.

I thought perhaps it Dave Leatherman could tell what was being eaten by the video below. It sure has been fun to have them around!

Also, the migrant geese have arrived as of Halloween with what I described as cackling, Richardson's and lesser Canada geese.
