[cobirds] Solitary Sandpiper Platte River Denver County

Hi all,

I regularly ride the stretch of the Platte River from REI to the Downtown Aquarium, right by Elitch's.  The past few weeks, I've seen plenty of Killdeer on the sand banks, sometimes up to a dozen of them.  Last Friday I saw a Black Crowned Night Heron perched in the falls at the confluence.

Yesterday (Weds the 27th) at about 5pm I saw a Solitary Sandpiper in the sand on the bank on the east side.  It was a first for me in that stretch of the river!

Thanks, Peter
