[cobirds] Red-necked Phalaropes. El Paso County

Early this morning we saw 2 Red-necked Phalaropes at Ramah Reservoir.

There were many sandpipers (Baird's, Least, Stilt), Long-billed Dowitchers (7) and dozens of Kildeers.

I have never seen as many Blue Jays, Northern Flickers, and Western Meadowlarks as there were at Ramah today.

5 Wilson's were the only warblers observed.

A total of 7 Swainson's Hawks, including one of the intermediate morph, all dark russet below; one immature Red-tailed was there all morning, always returning to the same perch.

We heard  Gray Catbirds in 3 spots from the road west of the reservoir.

A small flock of Barn Swallows  and one Great Blue Heron were also present.

It looked like it would be a very good day at Ramah today but we had to leave because of heavy rain.
