[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report - Barr Lake Station, 9/29/17

We were off two more days due to rain......this year we went from too hot to too wet with little in between.  Back out today, and the birds were active.  We caught 44 new, and we also caught 29 birds that had been banded previously this fall.  There appear to be lots of warblers hanging around, not ready for the next leg of their migration - today we caught 15 Wilson's that were already banded; more than we banded today.  Here's the breakdown of the new birds:

House Wren 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Hermit Thrush 1
Gray Catbird 2
Orange-crowned Warbler 10
Yellow Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 7
Common Yellowthroat 2
Wilson's Warbler 12
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Green-tailed Towhee 2
Song Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 2

Come visit! We are open 6 days per week (*CLOSED Mondays*), weather permitting, through October 15. We are opening nets at 6:30 and should have birds back at the station before 7:30. We will close most days by about 11:30. School groups arrive most weekdays at
about 9:30.
