[cobirds] Migration Celebration at Waneka Lake

Ted Floyd has just found his 240th species at this Wanake/Greenlee Lakes complex!  

Join Boulder County Audubon as we partner with the City of Lafayette for this Migration Celebration:

Boulder County Audubon will once again have an information and education station at this annual event. We will be leading bird walks and playing bird identification games with children. This event is family oriented and will feature prizes. Boulder County Audubon will have children's nature books for sale at bargain prices, and binoculars to lend and scopes set low for children.

Explore the wonderful world of birds in a beautiful place!  See a live falcon and other birds of prey up close and view birds in the wild through spotting scopes and binoculars.  .  Learn about migration, marshes and the role avian friends play in our lives.  Enjoy games, art projects and a scavenger hunt.   These and other activities will be featured at the 4rdAnnual "Celebrating Bird Migration" at Lafayette's Waneka Lake and Greenlee Wildlife Preserve Open Space.  

 The 1/3 mile walking path between the parking area and Greenlee Wildlife Preserve will feature several local organizations with great activities and displays to offer!   In addition to Lafayette Open Space, the following groups will be on hand to entertain and educate:  Environment for the Americas (home of International Migratory Bird Day), Wild Wings Environmental Education, the Lafayette Rec Center, the Lafayette Historical Society, Boulder County Audubon Society, Thorne Nature Experience, the American Birding AssociationLafayette Youth Advisory Committee, Empowerment Center of East County, JAX Outdoor Gear and Broomfield Open Space (with the Broomfield Bird Club).   The Parent Engagement Network is also a co-sponsor.  This free, public event is suitable for all ages and will also feature an array of fine door prizes.

"Celebración de aves migratorias" en Lake Waneka y Greenlee Marsh

Explora el mundo maravilloso de los pájaros en un lugar de belleza natural. Mira un gavilán vivo de cerca y observa aves silvestres usando telescopios y binoculares. Aprende sobre los humedales, la migración de aves, y el papel que desempeñan nuestros amigos voladores en esta vida.  Disfruta proyectos de arte y un juego de búsqueda. Estas y otras actividades serán parte del programa "Celebración de aves migratorias" en el Lago Waneka y el Espacio Abierto Greenlee en Lafayette.
