[cobirds] Jefferson Co - non-foothills Scrub Jays and Pygmy Nuthatches

Just a couple notes on birds following on previous threads.

In following the recent Woodhouse's Scrub Jay theme, I had at least 1 causing a racket in my yard on Saturday afternoon. I think there were 2, but it (they?) got into my neighbors dense pines, got skulky and disappeared before I could be certain.  I live in Littleton, by Clement Park and Columbine HS in eastern Jeff Co.

Right about the same time scrub jays were being reports in Arapahoe Co. (30 Aug), I had 2 Woodhouse's flying eastbound past my office window in Lakewood at Union Blvd and 2nd (by St Anthony's hospital).  (Thank goodness for conference calls).  This location is a little further from the foothills than my house (about 5 miles), but my first around here.

This morning, Monday, I had a pair pf Pygmy Nuthatches in the same spruce across the street from my house where I had them on 20 Aug.  I haven't heard/seen any since the first encounter.

Good birding,
Scott Somershoe
Littleton, Jeff Co.
