[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Station Report - Barr, 8-26-17

We had a productive opening day......71 new birds kept us busy!  We only have the front nets open because there is still lake water in the outer areas, but the birds are being accommodating, flitting through the short willows in the area near the banding station.  Here's today's breakdown:

Western Wood-pewee 1
Black-capped Chickadee 2
House Wren 16
Yellow Warbler 25
American Redstart 1
Northern Waterthrush 1
MacGillivray's Warbler 2
Common Yellowthroat 1
Wilson's Warbler 19
Song Sparrow 3

Come visit!  We are open 6 days per week (CLOSED Mondays), weather permitting.  We are opening nets at 6:30 and should have birds back at the station before 7:30.  We will close most days by about 11:30, earlier now when it is so hot.  School groups arrive most weekdays at about 9:30.
