A female type Surf Scoter swam with a small flock of Ring-necked Ducks this morning near islands on the west side of Lake Beckwith, Colorado City, SW Pueblo County. Best viewed with a scope on the dam at east side of Lake.
Common Loons also have been showing at the Lake--mostly alt. plumaged bird 4 days last week & basic plumaged one earlier this week.
An adult Bald Eagle flushed ducks off the Lake yesterday morning.
G. Roadrunners are popping up more commonly in the Greenhorn Valley this Fall; regularly seen this month east of I-25 on Pickney Rd. 1-2 miles south of its jct. with Cedarwood Rd. & another at a somewhat unusual high elevation(7000') near Rye on Table Mountain Rd. a few days ago.
