Birding on the Highline canal on the south side of Fairmount Cemetery.Observed feeding with White-crowned sparrows. Distinct dark crown with white medial stripe. Pale eye ring, light stout bill. Distinct yellow spot in front of eye. Cheek appeared to be grayish. Rich warm brown, reddish patterning streaked with black. Pale clear gray breast, pink legs. Photo and description on ebird. Canal is rich with weed seed, juniper berries, Russian olives etc.
