FYI, the migration is still on!
As I was working in my garden this morning, I heard a warbler singing an unfamiliar song. I had the choice to run 100 yards uphill for my camera or go straight for the bird. A no brainer…I went for the bird and heard another male singing across the meadow...2 of them. After 5 minutes of craning my neck to find the first boy in the aspens, he perched atop a 15’ dead pine, singing all the while. And….there he was…an incredibly beautiful Golden-winged Warbler! Needless to say, a new yard bird!
He cooperated while I noted all his field marks. Of course, the gold patch on his wing was a dead giveaway. Then, I ran for my camera and heard him sing one more time as I ran back, but he and this brother clammed up and moved on.

Keep watching and listening as they are still on the move!
