Dropped over to Red Rocks this morning to have a look at the feeders, thinking that the snow might bring in the rosy-finches. It did- all two of them. I joined Gwen Moore, Cheryl Teuton and Dan Brooke for about an hour, during which we had all the usual suspects plus the golden-crowned sparrow. It put in a brief appearance under the tube feeder and promptly disappeared. Junco-watching consumed most of our time, with all the races represented, plus a bewildering array of hybrids. Lots of scrub-jays, towhees, b/c chickadees and song sparrows, and one white-breasted nuthatch was scurrying up and down the tree trunks.
