Hi all,
I went looking for redpolls in Kremmling today, hoping for a Hoary. All the redpolls I saw were unmistakeably Commons. There were never more than about 25 in one spot, but I suspect I may have seen 40-50 individuals total. They were at the feeders at 911 Gore and 914 Eagle, right where Forrest Luke saw them last weekend. The owners of both houses were very nice and allowed me to get close to the feeders (I was making audio recordings). At 911 Gore there were 4 rosy-finches when I drove up, but they disappeared before I could get a species ID, and I never saw them again. At 914 Eagle there was a flock of American Tree Sparrows in with the redpolls.
In Silverthorne, at least 25 Barrow's Goldeneye were at the usual spot at the Blue River Water Treatment plant, along with several other species of duck.
