[cobirds] S. Platte Park Reservoir - Arapahoe & Jefferson

Hello All,

Rob Raker and I birded the S. Platte Park Reservoir and surrounding
area this morning. The 2 Long-tailed Ducks and Common Loon were still
on S. Platte Park Reservoir. The small ponds below and to the east
had open water with a variety of duck species. The flock of Greater
Scaup were still hanging out in the small pond to the east (closest to
the biking trail). We found a Swamp Sparrow along the S. Platte River
along with two Wilson's s Snipe.
These birds were north of the roundabout where the two main trails
merge. There is a bird box on a pole just to the north. We walked
along the river from this point and the Swamp Sparrow is where the
Winter Wren was located several winters ago. Good birding,
