I went to the Poudre River Trail at 35th Avenue in Greeley. The first lake west is ice covered, but the second lake on the south side of the trail had 5-8,000 birds on it and is 90% open. I saw lots of cackling geese, Canada Geese (minima and maxima), a dozen or so snow geese, 2 Ross geese, one blue-morph snow goose, common golden-eyes, common mergansers, mallards, coots, pied-billed grebes, one immature bald eagle, northern harrier, and one GB heron. There were also numerous gulls.
