[cobirds] Snow Geese aglow in snow glow low over JeffCo

Just outside at 5:55 pm, fully dark with cloud cover letting a few stars shine dimly through. Three big flocks of white geese flew south, passing right over my home in a series, each with about 75-100 geese. Now, normally I see geese as set against a sky with some light, whether blue sky or gray. But these geese were aglow from below with glow from the new snow reflecting streetlights and such from my neighborhood. It helped that they were not very high, and it made for a most beautiful unexpected moment. Several were calling individually, but there was no clamor.

I think they were Snow Geese by impression and sounds, and it seems most unlikely for so many Ross's over JeffCo. My overall estimate is 250 birds.
