[cobirds] Longmont on 20Nov2019 (Weld and Boulder)

The American Golden-Plover first reported by Steve Mlodinow is still in the nw corner of Union Res (Weld).  Thank you.  No photos due to distance and lighting.  Large groups of Bonaparte's Gulls and Killdeer, also.

I stopped briefly in the Barberry/Staghorn Drive portion of the neighborhood se of Airport Road jct Nelson Road where good warblers have been feeding on pine aphids last fall and earlier this fall but detected nothing of interest.

At least two Swamp Sparrows, maybe three, were at Golden Ponds w of Hover/3rd Ave. intersection.  From the Golden Ponds parking lot go west past the easternmost pond then take a left and follow the paved bike trail along the west side of the easternmost pond, continue south across the bridge over St. Vrain Crk and when the trail forks take the right fork toward the foothills (southwest).  Proceed about 100 yards.  The marsh s of the bike trail at this point is where the Swamp Sparrows were.  Song Sparrow and Marsh Wren also in that marsh.

One Long-tailed Duck is still at Lagerman Res., beautiful bird.  Like all Long-tailed Ducks, it matches no pics in the field guides.  Mostly diving at the east end.
