Rare, out-of-place and out-of-season species include:


Trumpeter and Tundra Swans are being reported, but fewer than in mid-November. Check the CFO website or eBird for recent locations. 

Surf Scoter (Arapahoe, *Jefferson)

White-winged Scoter (Logan)

Black Scoter (*Arapahoe, Jefferson)

AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER (Weld)

Mew Gull (Larimer)

Other expected wintering gulls have appeared at Lake Pueblo & other favored sites.

GYRFALCON (Larimer)

Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch (*El Paso)


ARAPAHOE COUNTY:

—On November 27 a Black Scoter was reported in the Arapahoe County section of the South Platte Reservoir.  First reported on November 13 by Burke Angstman.

—On November 24 a Surf Scoter was reported from the Arapahoe County side of South Platte Reservoir.  First reported on November 13 by Burke Angstman.


EL PASO COUNTY:

—On November 27  (2) Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was reported at Red Rock Canyon Open Space by Jim Merritt.


JEFFERSON COUNTY:

—On November 27 a Surf Scoter was observed at the Jefferson County section of South Platte Reservoir. First reported on November 13 by James McCall.

—On November 24 a Black Scoter was observed at South Platte Reservoir, Jefferson County side. First reported on November 13 by James McCall.


LARIMER COUNTY:

—On November 23 a gray-phase GYRFALCON, perhaps a returnee from last winter, made a brief appearance at 7:26 AM on Trilby Road near the Larimer County Landfill in southwest Fort Collins. It was first reported on November 3 by Robert Beauchamp.  Please post sightings to CObirds.

;—On November 23 an adult Mew Gull was reported from Timnath Reservoir by Josh Bruening.


LOGAN COUNTY:
—On November 24 a White-winged Scoter was reported from Jumbo Reservoir by David Dowell.


WELD COUNTY:

—On November 24 an AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER was reported from Union Reservoir.  First reported November 17 by Steven Mlodinow.
