Hello All,
I made a quick stop at Jumbo today during a short break from census work. The Black-legged Kittiwake and White-winged Scoter found by Cole Wild yesterday were still present. In addition there was an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull, two first Winter Mew Gulls and an adult Thayer's Gull. All five expected goose species were present with about 10,000 Snow Geese on the water. Very noisy! Both scaup and all three mergansers were seen as well. There were a couple of Common Loons diving frequently in the middle of the lake. Several Bald Eagles were harassing the geese looking for wounded birds I suspect. Most of the gulls were hanging around the outlet area as there seems to be quite a few shad to feed on in that area.
Enjoy,
