Hello all,
A group of Tuesday Birders saw an interesting hybrid duck around 9:30 am just north of 88th and Colorado. It had a ruddy body with a shoveler like black bill and a white face. The tail area looked shoveler like and the top of the head was dark with some greenish sheen in the overcast conditions. Our impressions were it was a ruddy duck-northern shoveler hybrid. After we viewed it for a few minutes, it flew south along the Platte. The rest of our group was birding along the Platte in the mile or so south of 88th, and they did not report seeing the duck in the next few hours.
