Oliver Komar and I hit several reservoirs in the northern part of
Larimer County today. We didn't find anything super rare, but it was
a nice day with a little over 60 species. Here are some of the
highlights:
Hamilton Reservoir:
Red-breasted Mergansers
Horned Grebe
Franklin's Gull- getting late?
Bonaparte's Gull
Cobb Lake:
Common Loon
American Pipit- probably the first time I have seen this species
perched on a power line.
Douglas Reservoir:
A mixed flock of Horned and Eared Grebes was pretty interesting. The
other times we saw these species today they were not mixed together.
Reservoir Ridge Natural Area:
The Common Loon is still hanging out.
Good Birding,
