Meet at 7 a.m. at Jim Hamm Park to begin our adventure to North Park, Arapahoe National Wildlife Refuge, and points in transit. Since this is my inaugural trip, participants are limited to 12. We will caravan to Walden while stopping at birding sites along the way. Sunday we will be more loosely organized and people
will be able to return at their own pace starting after lunch. Bring water, snacks, binoculars, scopes, radios, and appropriate clothing for the predicted weather.
Breakfast will be on your own and lunch will be in the field––so bring eats with you––but we will share an evening meal at a local restaurant Friday and Saturday nights. There are several motels in Walden but there will be no official place to stay so make your own reservations. Please be ready to carpool, either driving or riding. (Costs are shared at $0.30 per mile divided by the number of people in the car.) I have taken this trip with previous leaders and it can be loads of fun with very good birds. I am talking to people knowledgeable of the area and hope to have a plan in a few weeks. To register for this trip, call or email
to get on the list. I will also have a wait list. DO NOT TEXT. It will go unanswered and you will not be added to the list.

Sunday, July 14

Meet leader at 8 a.m. at the Prairie Loop log in Cherry Creek SP. Park pass required or day pass. From
either entrance follow Lake View Road to the Prairie Loop parking lot at the south rim of the reservoir. This half-day walk passes through most of the important habitats of the park, a distance of about 4 miles. Trails may be slippery, so dress accordingly in boots. Bring water and snacks. Lunch optional. Beginning birders are welcome. Co-sponsored with Denver Audubon.

Good Birding,
