[cobirds] Hyman(Jefferson) Red-Headed Woodpeckers

Co-birders,
This morning I took a solo trip to the Hyman burn area above Cheesman Lake and found Woodpecker heaven with 6 different species.
For the 4th time in the last 6 years I was able to find a pair of Red-Headed Woodpeckers(photos) nesting in the burned-out Ponderosa Pines.
Also in the area were 4 Lewis's Woodpecker, 2 Williamson's Sapsucker,1 Red-naped Sapsucker, 1 Hairy Woodpecker, and 2 Northern Flicker.
All birds were seen from the in less then 40 minutes along the side of the road within 50 yards of my truck. The spot is not to hard to find, once you
get to Cheesman take Gooose Creek Rd about 1 mile to fork go rt. on Stony Pass Rd (FS560) go .6 mile to small pull-off parking spot and study the
remaining standing Ponderosa.
  Good birding
