While enjoying the Sunday paper on the back porch this morning, I saw my first of season Calliope (1) and Rufous (1, possibly 2), along with the Broad-tailed (several) as well as a Black-Chinned. Wow!
Other visitors to the back porch included the family of flickers (the young ones are still trying to figure out the suet feeder), white-breasted nuthatch, scrub jay, pair of black-headed grosbeaks, a pair of black-capped chickadees and several house finches. In the yard were robins, mourning doves,a pair of spotted towhees, squirrels and rabbits.
What a great way to start the day!
