The first full day of banding and guess what?! The Wilson's Warbler are migrating through! Fourteen bird species and eight new species of the season (Dusky and Hammond's Flycatcher, American Redstart, Yellow-breasted Chat, American Goldfinch, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Gray Catbird, and Northern Mockingbird). The hummingbirds were thick at the station more numerous than yesterday. Several adult male Black-chinned Hummingbirds were guarding their food source.
