[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 8/23/26

It is really, really good to be home again!!  92 birds (20 species) banded yesterday!  Highest number at Barr since 9/3/2020!

Here's the list:

Downy Woodpecker 1

Western Wood-pewee 4

Traill's Flycatcher 1

Dusky Flycatcher 2

Cassin's Vireo 1

Red-eyed Vireo 1

Black-capped Chickadee 1

Red-breasted Nuthatch 1

Northern House Wren 12

Swainson's Thrush 1

Orange-crowned Warbler 2

Yellow Warbler 29

Townsend's Warbler 3

Northern Waterthrush 1

MacGillivray's Warbler 3

Common Yellowthroat 2

Wilson's Warbler 20

Clay-colored Sparrow 1

Brewer's Sparrow 1

Song Sparrow 5

Heat continues; birds very active early in the morning, closed many nets an hour early.

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It looks like it will be a great year to visit Barr!
