[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 8/29/26

First day of week 2, our slowest day of the season.  (However, we are slightly ahead of where we were on this same day in 2020, which was our biggest year ever.)

Although Wilson's Warblers continue to drive the daily totals, the first big wave (147 to date, all but 2 hatch year birds) seems to have passed.  Our total new birds today was 23:

Hammond's Flycatcher 1
Northern House Wren 2
Yellow Warbler 4
Townsend's Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 13
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Brewer's Sparrow 1

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It looks like it will be a great year to visit Barr!
