[cobirds] Register Now for the Colorado Birding Challenge!

Hi everyone,

Registration is now open for the 2026 COBC on Saturday, September 5th. You can visit cobirds.org/cobc to learn more and register your team.

We have added a new category this year called the Big Sit. For this category, you simply choose a location—whether it is your backyard or the shores of John Martin Reservoir—and count as many species as possible.

If you have not participated in this event before, we encourage you to join. To participate, review the four competition options, select the one that works best for you, and register through Pledgeit. Only one person from each competitive team needs to pay the registration fee; teammates can select their team when registering without paying additional fees.

There is also a "Bird Your Own Way" option, which is completely free, non-competitive, and customizable to how you would like to take part.

Last year we had 38 teams birding in 22 counties and we raised $20,000 for CFO programs and conservation. We also generated over 400 eBird checklists, a valuable documentation of Colorado's birdlife.

Good birding,

Peter Burke
CFO Board of Directors
