[cobirds] Lapland Longspur/Weld

Hi all

Two Lapland Longspur in tow with about two dozen Horned Lark on the exposed shoreline of CR 61/74 Galeton Ponds (south one). Also, Northern Shrike along South Platter river at CR 61 crossing--Rough-legged Hawk in that area last weekend.

The Hwy 34/CR 69 energy development pond continues to host a very large flock of Canada and Snow Goose--and watchful Bald Eagle.

Saw my first Hooded Merganser of winter at Windsor's Kyger Open Space--other ducks present, too. Windsor Lake had its usual California, Ring-billed and Herring Gull representation-and lingering American White Pelican (as did Woods Lake along with few Double-crested Cormorant).

All waters ice-free (of course). :-)

Yard has four piles of Eurasian-collared Dove feathers--accipiters must be visiting). Downy Woodpecker dropped by yesterday afternoon.
