[cobirds] June--August birds - Douglas

Because of Covid & because of the smoky polluted air, Urling & I have birdwatched only close to home for 2-3 months -- within a 5-mile radius of our house.
Our lists total 20-30 species per day; 66 species in June, 68 in July, 57 so far this month. No jawbreakers, but lots of reliable friends. We have counted more Turkey Vultures & Red-winged Blackbirds than any others. We have daily 2 chickadee species, 2 nuthatches, 2 jays, 2 goldfinches. The fledgling towhees burgeoned to at least a dozen at a time under our feeders, and fledgling Black-headed Grosbeaks hit 8. Both have now declined some. Four humm. species, but Calliope only 2-3 days, Rufous & Black-chinned only occasionally.
