A more typical early spring banding day - 11 new birds banded, plus we had 2 more returns, a House Wren banded in 2017, and our first Spotted Towhee of the season, a male who was first banded in 2016 and recapture in 2017 and 18. (There are about a million SPTOs singing from the treetops.) Here's the breakdown for the morning:

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon 3

We will be open daily, WEATHER PERMITTING, through May 31, except for May 9-11 and 27. We are opening nets at 6:30, and most days will have birds back at the station by 7:15. We aim to close by noon most days, earlier if it is very hot, very cold, or very windy. Registration is required for all weekend visitors; see the Denver Audubon website to sign up. Individuals may visit weekdays without registering before the school groups arrive, which is usually around 10 a.m.
