ADAMS COUNTY:
---On October 1 at Barr Lake Meredith McBurney banded a Philadelphia Vireo which was seen by Ira Sanders, Megan Miller, and Kurt Hansen.
---On September 30 at Barr Lake, Meredith McBurney banded and Susan Rosine photographed a Magnolia Warbler.
---On September 29 at Barr Lake, Steve Mlodinow reported Lesser Black-backed Gull and 150 Great-tailed Grackles.
---On September 22 at Barr Lake, Meredith McBurney reported banding Blue-headed Vireo and Nashville Warbler.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
---On September 26 at Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve, Christ Rurik reported Least Flycatcher.
---On September 19, Parasitic Jaeger was reported by Gene Rutherford, Charles Lawrence, Du Wayne Worthington and Mark Minner-Lee at Cherry Creek Reservoir and Gene Rutherford reported 4 Sabine's Gulls.  On September 20, Parasitic Jaeger was reported by Wayne Wathen, Gregg Goodrich,  Anna Troth, Kay Rasmussen, and Chris Goulart at Cherry Creek SP.  On September 21, Parasitic Jaeger was reported by Doug Kibbe at Cherry Creek Reservoir.  On September 22, Aaron Tucker reported Parasitic Jaeger and Sabine's Gull at Cherry Creek SP.

ARCHULETA COUNTY:
---On October 5, Kay Hawklee reported a Trumpeter Swan at Pinon Lake Reservoir.

BENT COUNTY:
---On October 1 an Ovenbird ws reported by David Dowell at Melody Tempel Grove.
---On September 26 an imm f RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported at Duane Nelson coming to his feeder in Las Animas.  If you would like to try for the bird, please contact Duane at dnelson1 AT centurytel.net.  Jill White Smith was able to get photos of the RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD perched on September 26.
---On September 24 by the shelter house at entry to Corps HQ below the dam at John Martin Reservoir, Duane Nelson reported a m Williamson's Sapsucker.  This is a new county record if accepted.

BENT/KIOWA COUNTIES:
---On October 4, Duane Nelson reported a juv LITTLE GULL at Adobe Creek Reservoir on the North part of the lake.  Duane
also reported multiple Sabine's Gulls.

BOULDER COUNTY:
---On October 6 at Boulder Reservoir, Ted Floyd reported a flyover Sprague's Pipit and 2+ Sabine's Gulls.
---On October 6, a Nashville Warbler was reported by David Dowell and Chris Rurik at Golden Ponds Park & Nature Area in Longmont.
---On October 5, Paula Hansley reported a Field Sparrow in her front yard in Louisville.  If you would like to try for the bird, call Paula at 303-263-1714.  The sparrow was not seen on October 6.
---On October 3, 3 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Thomas Heinrich near the dam at Boulder Reservoir.
---On October 1, 2 Broad-winged Hawks was reported by Peter Burke at Flagstaff Amphitheater.
---On October 1 a Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Candice Johnson near Foothills and Diagonal highways intersection.
---On September 24 a Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Steve Frye at Eben Fine Park in Boulder.
---On September 23 a Broad-winged Hawk was reported by Steve Mlodinow at Golden Ponds Park and Nature Area in Longmont.
---On September 23 a juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Thomas Heinrich and Mark Minner-Lee at Baseline Reservoir in Boulder.  On September 24 2 juv Sabine's Gulls were reported by Mark Miller and Peter Burke at Baseline Reservoir.  On September 25, Jeff Parks, Bruce Snyder and Sue Riffe reported Sabine's Gulls at Baseline Reservoir.

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY:
---On October 2 a f Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Temujin Shubodai at Echo Lake.

COSTILLA COUNTY:
---On September 28, 3 Sagebrush Sparrows were reported by Bob Friedrichs near the state line between Colorado and New Mexico and W of CR 8.

CUSTER COUNTY:
---On October 6 at Lake DeWeese, Mark Peterson reported Red Phalarop, Northern Parula, and 2 flyover Chestnut-collared Longspurs.
---On September 24 and 25 at DeWeese Reservoir, Cathy Sheeter reported Williamson's Sapsucker and Great-tailed Grackles.

DENVER COUNTY:
---On September 23 2 Caspian Terns were reported by Lock Kilpatrick at Marston Reservoir.

DOUGLAS COUNTY:
---On October 1, a Field Sparrow was reported by Thomas Holub at Plum Creek Delta at Chatfield SP.
---On September 24 at the Marina Sandpit at Chatfield SP, Scott Somershoe reported Sabine's Gull.  On September 25, Doug Kibbe reported juv Sabine's Gull at Marina Sandpit at Chatfield SP.
---On September 23 a Red-necked Grebe was reported by Micahel Kiessig at the original Heronry Overlook at Chatfield SP.
---On September 20, 2 Caspian Terns were reported by Micahel Kiessig and David Suddjian at Chatfield SP.

---On Septmeber 29 at Chico Basin Ranch, Steve Mlodinow reported Broad-winged Hawk.
---On September 26 at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area), Laura-Marie Koitsch reported that the White-eyed Vireo was recaptured.
---On September 25 at Chico Basin Ranch, Laura-Marie Koitsch reported banding a female Broad-winged Hawk that was banded back in 2002.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
---On September 22 at Robert A Easton Regional Park, Aaron Shipe reported a Palm Warbler.  On September 24, Tom and Debbie Behnfield, Art Hudak, and Scott Somershoe reported Western Palm Warbler at Robert A Easton Regional Park.  On September 25, Ryan Bushong reported Palm Warbler and Aaron Shipe reported Cassin's Kingbird at Robert A Easton Regional Park.

KIOWA COUNTY:
---On October 4 at Adobe Creek Reservoir, Jane Stulp and Janeal Thompson reported 2 Sabine's Gulls.
---On October 1 at Adobe Creek Reservoir, David Dowell reported 5 juv Sabine's Gulls and Chihuahuan Ravens
---On October 1 at Upper Queens/Neeskah Reservor, David Dowel reported juv Sabine's Gull and 11 Chihuahuan Ravens.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
---On October 2 at Flagler Park, Art Hudak, Mark Chavez and Tom Behnfield reported 2 Broad-winged Hawks.
---On September 28, a Philadelphia Vireo was reported by Glenn Walbek and Tyler Stuart at Flagler Park.
---On September 22 a Broad-winged Hawk and 2 Chestnut-collared Longspurs were reported by Glenn Walbek On CR 59 N of CR T.
---On September 20 a Philadelphia Vireo was reported by Glenn Walbek on CR 57 south of CR M.  On September 21 Glenn Walbek reported Philadelphia Vireo on CR 57 south of CR R.

LA PLATA COUNTY:
---On September 23, 4 Acorn Woodpeckers were reported by Lee and Linda Farrell at Rafter J Subdivision.  On September 27, 6 Acorn Woodpeckers were reported by Kathy Donaldson on Meadow Road in Rafter J Subdivision.  On September 29, 2 Acorn Woodpeckers were reported by Jason St. Pierre on Meadow Road in Rafter J Subdivision.

LARIMER COUNTY:
---On October 3, a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by David Wade on US 287 about 1/2 north of Ted's Place and Brandon Nooner, Sean Walters, and Austin Hess reported the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher about 3/4 mile north on a fence across from the lumber yard.  Later on October 3, Nick Komar reported that the m Scissor-tailed was hunker down in a scrub across from the lumber yard because of the high winds.  On October 4, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by Joe Mammoser near the lumber yard and was seen by several other birders.  Elizabeth Gibbons reported 3 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers on October 4.  On October 6, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was reported by April Eisele about 1 mile north of the intersection of Hwy 287 and Hwy 14.
---On October 2, a Williamson's Sapsucker was reported by Nick Komar at the entrance station to Rocky Mountain NP.
---On October 1, a Magnolia Warbler was reported by Nick Komar at Arapahoe Bend NA.
---On September 30, Joe Mammoser and Andy Bankert reported ad Lesser Black-backed Gull at Timnath Reservoir.
---On September 26 at Boyd Lake SP, David Wade and Austin Hess reported Sabine's Gull.
---On September 23 at Boyd Lake SP, Nick and Oliver Komar reported Lesser Black-backed Gull.
---On September 23 at Horseshoe reservoir, Nick and Oliver Komar reported Lesser Black-backed Gull.
---On September 23 at Spring Canyon Community Park in Fort Colllins, Brad Biggerstaff reported Blackpoll Warbler.
---On September 23 at Lake Estes near the sandspit by the bridge, Scott Rashid reported 1-st year Sabine's Gull.
---On September 22 at North Shields Pond NA, David Wade reported 2 Broad-winged Hawks and Green Heron.

---On October 5 on the playa south of Arriba on CR 63, Steve Mlodinow reported 1000 Chestnut-collared Longspurs, 50 McCown's Longspurs.

LOGAN COUNTY:
---On October 7 at North Sterling Reservoir and State Park, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's Gull, flyover LITTLE GULL, and  Chestnut-collared Longspur.
---On October 7 at Jumbo Reservoir, Steve Mlodinow reported Sabine's Gull and Laughing Gull.

MESA COUNTY:
---ON October 5 on old Hwy  6 in De Beque Canyon, JoAnn Riggle reported a Trumpeter Swan.
---On September 26 at Grand Junction Wildlife Area, Mike Henwood reported a Black Phoebe.

MONTEZUMA COUNTY:
---On September 25 at Mesa Verde NP Montezuma Valley Overlook, Ricky Taylor reported 14 Chukar.

MONTROSE COUNTY:
---On October 4, Coen Dexter reported a hatch year Broad-winged Hawk circling over Nucla.
---On September 26 at Nucla Lagoons, Coen Dexter reported a Nashville Warbler.
---On September 24 at Baldridge and Ute Parks, Jon Horm reported NEOTROPIC CORMORANT.  On October 2, Jackson Trappett reported NEOTROPIC CORMORANT at Baldridge and Ute Parks.

Denver Field Ornithologists Field Trips: 
The DFO Field Trip for Tuesday, October 4 will be to Chatfield SP led by David Suddjian.  This trip is full

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 8 will on Catamount Trail (Green Mountain Trail to Catamount Reservoir) led by Chris Gilbert (chrisgee9 AT gmail.com804-213-1508).  Trail Difficulty is strenuous.   
   Directions:   To carpool, meet at King Soopers at 100 Founders Parkway (just east of I-25 in Castle Rock, CO.  Will meet and carpool to Green Mountain Falls, CO. (about an hour drivefrom meeting spot).  The hike will be a 6-miles round trip hike with some elevation gain via switchbacks at the start.  We shoud see typical mountain birds; waterfalls and great scenery.  Bring snacks, plenty of water, a sack lunch;  Be weather savvy and ready.  Will eat lunch at the reservoir.  Binoculars are a must.  Cameras are encouraged.  Scopes are welcome (You will have to carry it 6 miles if your bring it).  Register online or contact leader.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 8 will be to Genesee Park led by Sue Summers and Wendy Wibbens.  This trip is full.

The DFO event for Sunday, October 9 will be The Big Sit at Chatfield State Park from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.  Edmund Holub is
in charge (edmund.holub AT gmail.com303-979-2194).  From Wadswort Blvd Entrance, go past the pay station to the stop sign,  turn right at this "T" and continue around the reservoir.  Cross the S Platte River and continue up the hill.   Turn left at the sign for the park headquarters and make a hard left into the large parking lot label Heronry Overlook.  At the far right corner, a trail leads down to the Heron Overlook.  State Parks pass or day pass required.  Stay for an hour, morning, or all day.  Drop by whenever you like.  Bring binoculars, scopes, and field guides.  

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, October 9 will be the Cherry Creek SP Wetlands Loop led by Karen von Saltza (kvonsaltza AT yahoo.com303-941-4881)  Meet at Prairie Loop lot in Cherry Creek SP.  From either park entrance, follow Lake View Rd to Prairie Loop that is located at the south rim of the reservoir.  State Parks pass or day pass required.  
   This is a hlaf day of walking that passes through most of the important habitats found in the park over a distance of about 3 miles.  trails could be slippery or muddy, so dress accordingly.  Bring water and snacks; lunch is optional  Register online or contact leadler.
