[cobirds] RMBO Chatfield Banding Report, 5/21/15

Nice day at Chatfield - under grey skies but no real threat of rain, we had 18 different species among our 26 birds caught for the first time this year.  (We also caught 10 birds that had already been captured sometime during the past 3 1/2 weeks):

Spotted Sandpiper 1 (Yep, really. This guy must have been skimming along the shoreline; he got caught in the very end of a net that runs perpendicular to the river.)
Western Wood-pewee 2 (FOS)
Hammond's Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Western Flycatcher 1 (FOS)
Warbling Vireo 3
House Wren 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Swainson's Thrush 2
Yellow Warbler 1 return, banded 5/28/13
MacGillivray's Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 1 new, 1 return, banded 5/28/13 (same day as the returning Yellow Warbler, see above)
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Spotted Towhee 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 2
Mountain White-crowned Sparrow 1
Lazuli Bunting 1 (F)
Bullock's Oriole 2 (M & F together)

Open daily, weather permitting, through the end of May, from about 7:30 - 11.
